About JWA

James Watt Automotive (JWA) grew from humble beginnings in 1998, starting in a barn, to become a championship-winning race organization and a well-respected and progressive engineering operation to this day.

JWA’s first role was to run a pair of Formula One cars for a client and from there the company’s reputation as a leading light in the Thoroughbred Grand Prix racing scene quickly developed. Enjoying the opportunity to work on a wide range of Formula One cars, including household names such as McLaren, Cooper, Ligier, Lotus, Williams and Lola, JWA ultimately found title success campaigning an ex-Martin Brundle Tyrell 012.
Lifting the Thoroughbred Grand Prix Championship with back-to-back title wins in 2003 and 2004, JWA quickly sought to establish its pedigree in contemporary racing and moved into the fiercely competitive Le Mans Series in 2005. JWA ran cars including a Porsche 996 RS, Porsche 997 GTR RSR and an Aston Martin Vantage GT2 in the series for several seasons competing at legendary venues such as Spa, Monza, Nurburgring and Silverstone.

With the race team now making in-roads in single-seater racing, JWA’s  off-track development has proved to be no-less impressive with its reputation for engineering excellence common knowledge within both the automotive and motorsport industries.
