JWA Set for Le Mans Porsche Extravaganza

Eccleshall, Staffordshire (July 28, 2008)

What better way to celebrate a birthday than to get a group of friends together and head to France for some leisurely time off? That’s exactly what Le Mans Series regular and James Watt Automotive (JWA) racer Paul Daniels thought when considering his options for his 50th birthday but rest assured this will be no ordinary celebration!

There’ll be no touring of vineyards or beachside tanning sessions on this trip – this is serious! A devout Porsche man through and through, Daniels is heading to Le Mans to unleash the power of his impressive race car collection with JWA charged with running all on-track operations for the man of the moment and his friends – as they have done for Paul since they entered the Le Mans Series together in 2005 campaigning a Porsche 996 RS in the GT2 category.

The GT cars set to comprise the birthday test, scheduled for Wednesday 30th July, include a Porsche 996 RSR and a 993 GT2.

As if that wasn’t enough the party will also sample the more ‘sedate’ road going cars in Paul’s collection including his Porsche Carrera GT, a 946 Turbo, a 996 GT2 and finally a Cayenne S. The icing on the cake, or should that be birthday cake, will be the welcoming of Oskar Slingerland and his 997 Turbo.

Single-seater race cars will be represented on the day by Paul’s very first race car, a 1984 Mondiale Formula Ford entry, and JWA’s University Formula Renault car sporting an impressive new midnight blue and silver livery.

JWA wishes Paul a ‘Happy 50th’ and looks forward to marking the occasion with a great day out at Le Mans!
